The Zalto burgundy glasses are great, and I don’t have a problem with the price, but they are just too fragile to be practical.

That’s too profound…and theoretical of a question for me. I know I’d never have the option on the Degas…more like an Andrew Wyeth print.

Tom, have you had personal experience with the fragility of those glasses? How many have you broken? Owned?

When my friend first offered me one, in summer 2010, that was my reaction to them. But, he assured me that they are shockingly sturdy. I found that so, and kept the Bordeaux glass for almost 18 moths, before I carelessly knocked it into a pot and severed the stem. Any glass would have capitulated to that, so…I’m not convinced that they are any more susceptible to breaking…less…in fact. They seem more elastic than many. But, if you have experience to share, I can take it…as I’ve already bought a few for my Wyeth prints…
