TN: “Gravity Pulls” Chardonnay from Championship Bottle

Glad you’re enjoying it! And we try and have some fun with the labels. I have a talented friend and stay out of the way after I give him the wine names. I wondered at the beginning if people would still take the wines seriously if the bottles were colorful (certainly they’re made like vin de garde much more than most other things with our color palette) but it seems to be working.

The Nerves version of “Walking Out on Love” is pretty roughly recorded, but the Paul Collins Beat version sounds better. Lots of people don’t know the Nerves, although they should. “Hanging on the Telephone” (later redone by Blondie) is a classic, and both the Plimsouls and the Paul Collins Beat went on to record some great power pop records.

Opened up a '20:

Searing acid, lithe, and loads of minerality. No reduction notes. Not much fruit other than citrus notes. Better on day two after it calmed down. It would have been better with food. If blinded I would have guessed Muscadet.
