Togni Vertical: 1983 to 1996

stars of the night for me were 83,86, and 92.

95 and 96 were painfully young. 91 was animalistic and all over the place

Awesome lineup!

Been a long time since I’ve had a Togni, but I used to drink them regularly, including most of those vintages. I’m not surprised that many are still showing very well at 20-30+ years. The 1994 was my favorites of the '90s. From the '80s, my favorites were the 1984 and 1986. But that was over 10 years ago. The 1988 was never quite in the same league as most of the others, so I’m not surprised to hear it was just average. I think it was a lesser vintage generally in Napa.

Looks like a great event. Indeed very much like top end Pauillac. I have only a few left of any vintage at this point.

Looks like a fantastic tasting! I love the 1990 - 1996 Togni, but have never been as blown away with anything that came from '97 onward. I bought a lot of the '97, some of it straight from the winery, and was never a fan, even though it got higher scores. My favorite is the '92; only one bottle left! Has always seemed a doppelganger for the '82 Gruaud Larose.

wait 10 more years on the 97
