Dominus was great but is pricey. Got it last year for $190 from KL for my wife as a birth year wine to go up against my birth year (1985 Beringer) which it absolutely crushed.
Another 84 vintage here
I had a Silver Oak Anderson Valley last year (with modest expectations) that was absolutely outstanding.
Alexander Valley. That was a really good wine but I haven’t had it for a long time. I hauled a 3L back from my honeymoon and drank it at my 40th birthday party.
For Australian counterpart I would vote for
Henschke - Cyril Henschke
Mount Mary - Cabernets (Quintet)
I’m doubting it, but I once had a DRC Ecchezeaux from 84 that got me thinking there just might be sumthin with Burgundy.
Right. The one not from Napa it was stellar
Côte Rotie - Jasmin is sublime…am sure the La-Las would still be kicking.
I’ve had a few 1984 Rutherford Cabernets recently that were incredible.
