La Conseillante and Cheval Blanc were both excellent, but I haven’t had either in the last 10 years. Vieux Telegraphe also stunning, along with the Beaucastel. Pichon Lalande and Margaux were also terrific. Ridge Monte Bello is another fine choice. Good luck with your quest!

I started one of these threads above and the input was terrific. After exhaustive research I went with a 81 Colheita Port. Was a great choice and that style is bottled recently so storage, quality etc wasn’t a concern. Guys and gals on this board will know far more than I but I believe the 1981 sat in a barrel and then they bottled it in 2020. So while it’s truly
40 years old the bottling is very recent.
