Don’t have any advice on the Vdara; however, sounds like you’re willing to travel a bit so I also suggest Bonnie Springs Ranch. Bonnie Springs is 30 minutes west of Vegas in Red Rock. They have an old western town, small zoo, horseback riding - I still enjoy it. https://bonniesprings.com
Next to Bonnie Springs is Spring Mountain Ranch - another cool day trip with nice hiking trails:
Not to mention the great trails in Red Rock Canyon! Enjoy outdoor Nevada!
While there was plenty to do, and the kids had plenty to see all the time just based on people watching, probably would not take my kids to Vegas again other than as a quick pass through.
The contrast between Zion and Vegas was so stark. One is completely soul nourishing and the other completely soul crushing. But I was never a big Vegas fan to start.
Just got back from Vegas…and I have to say that Vdara was perfect.
Really nice hotel, quality like Aria without the smoke and casino.
Sadly for the kids, the hot tub and pool were empty (maintenance).
Vdara sits next to Cosmopolitan, so close eats.
There is also a bridge directly connecting to Bellagio.
Would’ve been nice if Vdara had a couple restaurants.
Their first floor bar lounge was cool for late night drink after kids went to bed.
Anyway…Took my kids to Prime for dinner, on Thursday, then we went to the O Show.
Then went to High Roller Observation (ferris) wheel after the show.
Who says you can’t take kids to Vegas?!?
What a fun time!
Oh, and surprisingly, there weren’t too many porn card flipping people on the streets.
The couple we walked passed they looked right at us and turned away without holding out the cards to my kids.
Oh lastly - anyone ever use the Silvercar car rental app?
They rent only Audi A4 and Q5.
This was an amazing experience - once you arrive, you notify them thru the app, then they meet you at the car rental drop off.
No lines.
Just verification and scan thru your cell phone, and you’re on your way.
Drop off also very easy.
They fill the tank without charging for a full tank (they only add $5 service fee).
