# OG N.96 2018 Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. Took a bottle to share with friends. A little closed at first, but really opened up with some air. Everyone really enjoyed it.
OG Lot 176 2019 Russian River Pinot Noir
Over 3.5 years in the bottle. PnP.
Oh yes! Nice Pinotberry in the nose! I had almost given up on the nose, but, it finally has come around and opened up!
I got 4 cases of this beautiful wine, less than 1.5 cases left. Needed the bottle time and it can still age longer. Double good
with leftover Chicken Paprika (food on day 3 even better!)
I tried our 1st of 15 N 89 Walla Walla 2018 Cab Sauvignon mid-July 2024 and remembered this medium bodied selection having a balanced favorable mouthfeel. This $9 sale Cabernet Sauvignon was well within Cam’s description of a $60 value and for me as a 92 pt / A selection. Lots of fun enjoying N 89 CS among other dN wines as we sit daily at our outdoor fire pit (tons of firewood courtesy of Hurricane Helene). I was glad to read that MDMiller also enjoyed opening this. which I had originally scheduled for 2025, and giving it a nice wine taste description.
Popped an OG #1 tonight. What a $10 bottle of wine.
Lucky you Matthew T!

OG dN Lot 194 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
3.5 years + in the bottle. 1st of 12, PnP.
Pours with a light color, more like a PN, than a CS. Seductively restrained red fruit flavors and elegant structure. The cool climate of this Wooden Valley fruit has plenty of acid.
My best summary is refined, pretty, elegant and seductive. I really like this wine for when a refined and perfectly balanced CS is desired. Allegedly an Opus One winemaker?
I like this soon to be triple yum, to improve and age a while longer. /

I enjoyed one these No. 15s while camping this summer:
N.70A cheleham pinot noir
1 year check in. Translucent, light body, no concentration or flavor. Still not sure what to do with these. Gets lost with food, minimal enjoyment on its own… Wish I had more N.19s and N.24s instead of these…
67% Pommard 33% Clone 115 5% new French Oak, 10% second fill, 85% neutral French oak 13.6% alc.
someone needs to taste 513 for me before Black Friday … please and thank you
(I didn’t order because I am out of country from Nov 3 - Dec 20 and did not want to risk any shipping issues)
I agree 100%. Overall the 70s were a disappointment, with B & D the most acceptable of the four the last time I tried them. And I fell hard for Cam’s hype and invested in multiple cases. The only other Pinot that I’ve been somewhat disappointed in has been 126. And waiting for 157 to (hopefully) come around is annoying.
But the other Pinot offerings have been excellent overall and have more than made up for those that weren’t.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all and I look forward to hearing what dN wines you paired with your bird.
Marie and Steve,
A and D blends been best for me. B was weakest. I’ve enoyed them with roasted chicken on a Sunday evening.
Marie, had a OG N.126 last week, wine is much more aromatic then previous bottle (I’ve opened 2 so far). Had the smaller sibling OG N.125 past weekend. Sneaky good tannins, earthy, strawberry with a medium body at 12.2% abv. Almost through my case.
For Thanksgiving, I’ll do a OG N.24 as family is around, some are not fancy wine drinkers. I save the best bottles for my wife and I on Friday and Saturday evening with leftovers.
Cheers, Tim
Thanks Tim. Still jealous of all your N.24s! Have a great holiday. I have a 101 fever and fell like crap, so that may have tempered my review of the N.70-A.
The #70’s were all too lightweight for me. More like a Beaujolais…
I was happy to trade my second case for a big yummy CS.
Lot 426 | 2020 North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon
#1 of 12. Only 1 year in the bottle, PnP. I was very hopeful.
Pours dark, aroma reminiscent of a Barolo? Not really tasting CS here. My mind keeps thinking Barolo (Nebbiolo). It’s 14.8%, but not hot or very interesting to me. No flaws, just a decent red wine.
I hope age will help this develop into something more yummy?
DAY 2, I left 1+ inch, in hopes of finding some improvement. Nope. It was just the same as on Day 1. So, it CAN age. Hopefully well? improve? I did drink it all….

OG N.68 2018 Sonoma County “Mountain” Cabernet Sauvignon
4+ years in the bottle. ~#9 of 30, PnP.
This seems very ready for me, this is one for me to drink every 1-2 months, until gone, not really to cellar much longer. I have plenty more.
This is elegant and balanced. This IS restrained and not over the top, again, nicely balanced! One Yum.
DAY 2 - seems rather tired to me. Drinking it up!
Day 3 - bit of a yuck, into the cooking wine bottle (for pot roast, etc.)
with Ribeye
Question for the experts (or more specifically, those who have had n.50 relatively recently). Thinking of opening it soon. Would it benefit from the slow-ox decant Cam used to recommend (1 hour decanted, then back in the bottle for 23 hours)? Or…regardless, how would you prep this if at all? Thanks!!
Reposting my review from 6 months ago. It’s the same or better. This is my last bottle, great QPR @ $99/case:
Lot 384 2022 Monterey County Chardonnay
Ready, set, guzzle! Deep straw yellow/golden color, moderately rich, unctuous fruit, good oak accents and PLENTY of nice acid. Big Cool climate high acid balance. It’s a good food wine and is likely from Chalone (Bum-F*** Egypt) high up and near the Pinnacles National Park. I don’t think I will need to age this one for long, it’s already drinking up nicely!!
with Cod Fish & Chips
@Margo_Smith, I would just pour it into a decanter for 2 hours and drink, drink, drink!
It’s a wine that I actually enjoy right on the pop, but would benefit from some air.
Margo,
I had a #50 last week:
4+ years in the bottle, #2 of 12. 24 hour decant, back into the bottle for serving. Pours dark, black fruit aromas in the muted nose, the rich flavors are deep and pleasantly balanced. Good acidity!
I did a 24 hour decant, not necessary.
Enjoy,
I enjoyed a bottle in September, a 1 to 2 hr. decant should do the trick.
