A splash of Amontillado/Oloroso Sherry (for closure)

This has got to be some sort of record.

Wine wise: a $20 bottle of Italian red (LN or Barolo). But normally I reach for multiple ice cold Averna amaros over ice.

Unless am seeing this wrong,Vito your last posting was three days after you joined Jan 6, 2012??? WOW, “a while”…!

Vito disdains unnecessary verbiage.

$20 Barolo? I’m pretty sure that if one can find such a wine, there’s no better place to drink it than when your tastebuds are absolutely incapacitated!

Sauternes or Vintage Port

I like to think that I go and grab a bottle or two of De Negoce but usually grab a $$$ bottle and then regret it the next day that I didn’t grab the De Negoce.

This. After some all day tastings, the perfect chaser was a glass of Kronenberg.

I certainly was not drunk as I had been spitting, but brain and palate were exhausted, and we craved this.

Well there is the mandatory, sure fire hangover prevention Pizza. Lately when I am traveling and have had a long day of wine I finish with Chartreuse.

Your cheap house wine

I think it was Ernie Loosen that once told me “you drink Riesling to sober up.”

@Otto_Forsberg if you buy from sites like last bottle, during a sale, you can pick up $75-100 bottles of things on sale.
Alessandro Rivetto Barolo Serralunga d’Alba 2017 Is $75 on Wine Searcher. I bought it last year for $26 on Last Bottle.

That sounds more like a $70 wine you got for $27, not a $20 Barolo.

What is this “drink too much” you’re referring to?
