It truly is becoming more common to see lighter style red wines under 12% and I have enjoyed quite a few of them. At the Rhone Rangers trade seminar last week in DC, Two Shepherds poured a Cinsault from Bechtold Vineyard that came in at about 11.5%

Larry, what’d you think about the Two Shepherds? I saw it at K&L and was thinking it’d be interesting do try, especially alongside its Turley and Onesta siblings.

William makes good wine and it’s always nice to do side by side. Pickup the Birichino, too - my favorite of the Bechthold Cinsaults.

A couple of weeks ago I sampled a client’s 2017, 11.9% Pinot Noir from Yorkville, eastern Anderson Valley. It offers strawberry and rose petal, is deceptively light hued and with a pleasant medium body which now I sell in the mid $20’s.

Recently tried the 11.6% 2010 Sandler Connell Vineyard Syrah. Tough as nails and difficult to enjoy at the moment.
