I’m kind os surprised there’s only 1 white wine in 2 - 10.

So, the 2018 MacDonald for the W?

I thought number 1 would be a French Bdx (my guess was CHB or Canon) but it seems unlikely now.

How about 2008 Krug for the win! Or Cristal

I’m guessing one of these wines will win #1-

2016 Produttori di Barbaresco Rabaja
2018 Spottswoode
2018 Macdonald (good call BA)
2018 Dominus

Leaning towards Napa cab, as WS gave the 2018 vintage a 99pt vintage review.

@DavidBaum good call, the 08’ Champagnes are getting a lot hype this year too. If either win, I’m guessing Krug over Cristal.

Thx I actually made a MacD top 10 call a few days ago but with two Napa Cabs I think thats not gonna happen. Love the Rabaja call though

Quilceda Creek Cvr , 95 pts $45.Just sayin!

Spottswoode would be nice but don’t need to give them any more reasons to raise pricing.

No south american wines in the top 10 so far right? gotta be #1? or that whole region gets shut out…

Nothing from the entire Southern Hemisphere

The Merum is the best value on the list (so far). It was available for <$40 until today. I saw the 2017 rated 95 last year and highlighted as value of the week in their Insider newsletter, I bought some. It is an excellent Priorat. Even though it was rated the same as the 2018 vintage it didn’t even make the Top 100 last year. And you can still find it at retail.

MacDonald is almost unobtainable. The otehrs woud be fine, but I’m thinking a 2019 Aubert Chard. Eastside got 97. There’s also Paul Hobbs Sonoma PN which got 96.

JM announcing tomorrow morning on IG…hence probably a Napa Cab

I was having a trade lunch today, and we all think Krug 08 is it, which would be absurd.

There has been 2 Cali, 2 Italy, 4 French and 1 Spain so far. I don’t think it’s more Cali or Italy (or Spain for that matter).

Champagne or South America make sense. Could this be the year Don Melchior FINALLY wins it?

Totally agree, MacD is almost unobtainable, however WS featured the MacD brothers and their 2018 in the last issue…so maybe a tee-up. However, Aubert killed it in 2019, so that’s a great call. Eastside is my favorite and may easily be the choice, however Hudson and Park Lane have not yet been reviewed to my knowledge…

I think that’s pretty typical of their lists, no? Maybe there was one year they had a bunch of rieslings.

Maybe #1 this year will be a nice spatlese?

I’ll guess the 08 Krug or '18 Macdonald.

Also live on CNBC, at 10:50 eastern.
