We drank a bunch of Oregon wines during Hanukkah, so went German on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
Martin Muellen 2018 Mosel Riesling Revival Trocken - a dry Qba that keeps making you go back for another taste. A good wine that becomes almost stunning when paired with poached sole.
Hermann Ludes 1995 Thoernicher Ritsch Riesling Auslese - luscious pineapple and stones. Outstanding wine but it fought for attention with the brown butter scallops at Christmas lunch. Pair with smoked fish so it can shine on its own.
Ziereisen 2016 Schulen Blauer Spaetburgunder - an excellent wine, dense, fruity with good complimentary acid to accompany Christmas night mushroom risotto. Great qpr, I think this can age nicely for the mid-term as well.
