Saw a lone straggler, a 2014 Clos Rougeard Les Poyuex for $184 and said what the hell. Can't have enough 2014 Rougeard [truce.gif]
That’s actually a very good price!
I have a decent amount of 2014 Lex Poyeaux, I figured if I get shut out of the 2015's that I might be able to trade a couple of my 2014's for them. Then that is it for me as I think the 2015's were the last wines the 2 brother's made right?

Good price. Good plan.

I benefitted from my loaded purchases of 2007s and 2008s and turned them into trade currencies to add on, and/or expand into, other vintages. You can also sell to buy into other vintages.

A few bottles of Pierre Peters L’Esprit de 2014 (on sale at 20% off, which translates to around $70/bottle including VAT), some more ‘04 Jaboulet La Chapelle, ‘07 La Lagune (out of curiosity - actually not bad at all after around 2&1/2 hours of aeration), and ‘89 Suduiraut (375ml).

1993 Michel Lafarge Volnay Vendanges Sélectionnées.

I decided to splurge on this - which will be the second-oldest Burgundy I'll have drunk whenever that happens - because Lafarge with age has been one of my "one-day" wines forever. I'm really excited.

Nice! I too recently bought some 93s (de L’Arlot NSG Clos de Forets and d’Angerville Taillepieds). I’ve had a few 93s this year and all were in a great place. Enjoy!

Here's hoping! By coincidence, our esteemed William Kelley had it a couple years ago according to CT and said it was in fine form.

Went a little crazy on winebid this week, mostly for daily drinkers though.

1996 Qupe Bien Nacido Reserve Syrah
1999 Qupe Bien Nacido Syrah 375
2004 Qupe Bien Nacido Syrah
2005 Qupe Bien Nacido Hillside Estate Syrah
2007 Rossignol-Trapet GC VV 375
2009 Michel Noellat NSG Les Boudots

Still a lot of Qupe and M. Noellat left this week in case anyone else is interested.

A bit OT, but what is your take on 2017 Loire - i.e. 2016/2015 La Croix Boissee vs. 2017 La Croix Boissee

Just backfilled on 2016 La Croix Boissee but have not seen any 2017 La Croix Boissee at all.

A smattering of 2017 Baudry La Croix Boissee
A bit OT, but what is your take on 2017 Loire - i.e. 2016/2015 La Croix Boissee vs. 2017 La Croix Boissee

Just backfilled on 2016 La Croix Boissee but have not seen any 2017 La Croix Boissee at all.
Hi Joel -

Sorry have not tried any 2017 yet, but know that Loire critic Chris Kissack is quite big on the 2017 Boissee. I bought it mostly because I have every year for more than 12+ years regardless of vintage, it always seems to shine. Funny enough, I ended up accidentally ordering the 2016 3x times times from 3x retailers. Good problem to have, eh?

PS. Price on the 2017 Boissee has gone up quite a bit.

Tasted at release, slacked-off and not bought any. I'm very bullish. My buy of the page, so far.
