My kids got me an 8qt for xmas this year. Have fooled around with a bit and am enjoying it. Though my rice is sticking to the bottom of the pot no matter the adjustments I make. That's annoying.
I am planning to try RamenLord's adapted 4 hour Tonkotsu this weekend. Looking forward to see how it performs.

Dennis, regarding the rice sticking, have you ever tried doing a quick sauté in some EVV before adding water and bringing up to pressure? I've found that doing so really helps curtail any sticking issues.

Finally made rice in mine last night for the first time. Used 1:1 ratio. Perfection.

I started at 1:1.25 and last time went to 1:1 and still got sticky rice and stuck to bottom of pot.
What was your timing? I did 3minutes high pressure/10mins natural release.

I always do the 1:1 ratio, 5 minutes for long grain white rice, 6 minutes for basmati or jasmine.

I always rinse the rice before until the water is clear. Then when you add it has at least a tablespoon or more extra water above 1:1.

Same, almost always rinse and will subtract a little to account for the hydration when I do. And I'll say it again, doing a quick, high heat sauté in a bit of EVO really helps to reduce sticking, especially with basmati - stir rapidly and quickly with a wooden spoon before dumping in the water and bringing up to pressure.

Dennis,

Did 6 minutes on high and 10-11 on natural pressure release. Used short grain spanish rice (bomba style). Did not rinse. Not a grain stuck.

Guys- Thanks for all the comments. I've been washing, too. I'll keep working on it. Maybe a short grain would be better. Thanks.
