This is the way. I limped in at GCC as I am not a baller. :)

Srsly though, I spend about 50% of my budget on the 26th. Some of the offers are limited and it is your best chance to get something that might sell out.

Signing up for GCC should give you a pretty good sense of some of the perks involved, especially if you anticipate participating in Berserker Day.

Whether or not one signs up for the higher tier Monopole Cru, is entirely dependent on their individual comfort level. For me, I find that I get way more than $100 of value out of this forum alone, without any of the perks like Preview Day, etc. The way I look at it, if I find value in signing up for other wine publications, it seems silly not to contribute to a site that has been (to me at least) at great source of wine knowledge and insight. I also get to do my small part in helping keep this wonderful community going. Then there's all the perks layered on top that makes it a great value and no brainer for me. Everyone's situation is different though, so it's what membership level one signs up for is entirely dependent on what they are comfortable with.

I think we just hammered out a super cool Monopole-Cru-only offer for those anti-domestic people who feel BerserkerDay is not for them...

Thank you - and I agree that Metrick does some great wines. I hope Alex participates this year, but not sure. I missed Shiba Wichern last year, so hope to get some this year!

I signed up for GCC for a preview and plan ahead as mentioned above. Last two years felt like those WalMart black Friday videos scrambling from thread to thread trying to figure out my purchases. It'll be nice to have that sorted out a day in advance.

I hear that what the really cool kids are doing this year is to organize a pre-BerserkDay tasting, with a former BerserkerDay Champion and past BerkerDay wines, the night before Berserker Day 13 to plan and strategize the madness of the day. [cheers.gif] [berserker.gif] [berserker.gif]

Yup, all of them. You have access (as Monopole Cru, or Grand Cru Crü) to BOTH Preview Day forum (where you can only look, not touch/purchase) and Early Purchase Offers, where you can purchase the day before.

A PM will go out to all MC and GCC members with all the instructions.

According to this yes

“ Preview Day/Early Purchase Offers

On January 26th, Wednesday, Grand Cru Crü and Monopole Crü members will have access to the Pre-Launch forum to see ALL the offers, and plan their buying strategies. NO PURCHASES CAN BE MADE FROM THAT FORUM, and violators stand to lose the ability to participate in future BerserkerDays. There are, however, 'Early Purchase Offers', wherein BerserkerBusiness members, in a separate forum, can sell their offer on the same day as Preview Day, Jan 26th. Only Grand Cru Crü members will have access to Preview Day and Early Purchase Offers, everybody else (guests and registered members) will be eligible on Jan 27th. Both will be open around the same time. ”

It's been quite a while since I was on the WB forum.
I've officially been sucked back in and happily joined the likes of GCC.
(Thanks for the info Chris C a r y.) 😁
Looking forward to BD#13!
NO, I don't actually love or drink boxed wine 🤣

I’m also looking forward to my first BD. This thread has helped immensely in understanding the logistics and how to approach the day. As for the emotional and financial toll…I’ll have to remind myself that good wine and Chase points usually go down pretty easy.

Feelin' the BerserkerDay vibe already!!!! I always wait to the last minute, but with all the prodding this year, I'm gonna bask in extensive over-extracted over-thinking and over-analysis and over-editing of my offer all weekend and likely three more days until the madness begins. Nothing like WB for falling into wonderful rabbit holes. SO fun.

Welcome to all newbie buyers, this really is a cool way to discover small vintner operations that truly care what goes in the bottle. We offer Berserkers great deals because Berserkers WRITE about what they love!

Posting this here, as well as another thread on 'how to BerserkerDay' so I cover more ground for those who don't yet know

Here's the outline and some detail on how it will work:

ON PREVIEW DAY (JAN 26, 2022)

GCC and MC members will be able to see the Preview Forum (no purchases from this forum) and Early Purchase Offers (purchases CAN be made from this, only this forum).

MC members will also be able to see (and purchase from) a special MC-Only forum.

All these forums will be seen as subforums to the main BerserkerDay 13 forum, as shown below

Screen Shot 2022-01-24 at 9.33.03 AM.png
All forums will close at 8pm Pacific so I can do more maintenance, moving threads back, etc.

ON BERSERKERDAY (JAN 27, 2022)

Offers will start posting around 7:30 am Pacific, in groups of around 10.

Re-upped GCC, cocked and ready....

Thanks Todd and Crew for the fun. More exciting than the weekend's football. And I for sure don't "need" any wine. But here I am.

I was just today put on paid CoVid leave for at least a week.

What shall I do this week other than the honey-do list?

Wait! What? There are BD items *on* the honey-do list!
