2019 La Pelle Cabernet Single Vineyard offer

We are pleased to present our second annual offering of the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Single Vineyard wines. These unique and soil diverse wines hail from a remarkable vintage. Beautifully showcasing the terroir from some of Napa Valley’s most expressive sites, during an ideal growing season in 2019. The palate is textured with excellent structure and full-bodied with an elegant dark fruit core. Read the winemakers’ tasting notes in the links below to learn more about each:

CENIZA · RED HEN · ALLUVIUM

We package the wines in three-bottle cases from each vineyard site and have a limited number of mixed bottle cases which include one 750ml from each property. The wines are powerful and expressive with potential to age for decades. Be sure to secure some to enjoy now and some to age in the cellar.

I’m in for a 3-pack of each plus one mixed 3-pack

I was offered these as well. Any insight on them would be appreciated.

These wines are all awesome and IMHO a great value. I tasted with them last spring, and loved all of their wines, both white and red. Their Napa Cab is one of the best QPR’s out there. Buy with confidence.

Tempted to grab a mixed 3

Have been buying since 2016. They are exceptional wines made by one of the top winemakers in Napa with arguably one of the top resumes and skill sets. I haven’t had the ‘19 SVDs as of yet but very much look forward to popping one soon. Solid QPR at this level of quality.

Would you be able to expand on your thoughts about the Coombsville single vineyard?

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on some because I am really loving that AVA of late. I already have a ton of St Helena juice and Oak Knoll doesnt really get me fired up.

Thanks in advance…

Do we know when the Reserve bottling is released?

It was April last year

Another quick question or two for you all who are more familiar with Maayan’s winemaking style.

Does he lean more modern or traditional? Are these wines generally meant to be early drinkers, or to be laid down for several years?

Again, thanks in advance for any insight…

Blarmston- 2018 is his first SVD release (previously it was the entry cab for $75 and reserve for $175 so my personal knowledge is limited on that front (and I didn’t try the 2019 SVDs).

In regards to style. He was the assistant winemaker at Screagle before moving over to be the wine director for Melka’s consulting wine business (titles cold be wring but essence is correct)- Think Dana, J Daniels, Vice Versa, etc. Now his style is different than all of those but has the same tannin refinement - IMO his wines are more structured than the others if that helps? His entry level is an earlier drinking, and the reserve is more of a laydown wine. Based on my 2018 SVD tastings, I would say the same for those as well but assume vintage dependent. I say that because the 2019 entry level is on fire right now.

He also makes a killer Chard that is very much Burgundian in style (really not like how its mentioned in Napa but really).

Hope that helps.

Thank you everyone, the 2019 vintage was a great one. The wines are a bit darker and softer then 18 vintage bust still with excellent structure and energy. The 3 single vineyard wines are different from each other but with one common line of Dark fruit, full body, great structure and hint of sweetness.
I’m excited about them! Reach out anytime, the allocation will be closing in a week or so.
Reserve and Chard will come out in April.

Cheers

Just had a 2018 Reserve tonight and, well, holy sh!tballs it was absolutely mind blowing. Had a 2019 NV a couple weeks back as well, very very impressed. These wines are no joke. The QPR is incredible. Very much looking forward to my tasting with Mayaan in a couple of weeks. I fear for what will happen to my credit card!

The 19 NVs I have had have been amazing. Have some sauv blanc, chard, and syrah as well. Would like to try some 21 Cabs!

A den of enablers! The whole damn lousy lot of ya!

I need to be on another winery’s release list like I need an extra hole in my head!

But against all sanity, I just signed up, anyway.
