Amazing wine from ukraine

Was with the director of the Organization International de Vin
This is an agency that is not well known in the USA that promotes/regulates wine worldwide.

https://www.oiv.int/

He served me a wine from Ukraine that was unique and amazing.

A super extracted wine but with excellent balance. Only 1100 bottles made and it goes for only $25 . Only sold to particulars. The winemaker said missles fly overhead while they work and some vineyards have been hit. Some people have been killed.

Anyone ever heard of this wine?
This would be a great article Anyone know of someone willing to publish?
I can put them in touch with the winemaker, who speaks perfect English

Stories like this interest me a lot more than tasting notes about DRC or Screaming Eagle. Thanks for sharing.

From the name it sounds like it may be from Art Winery? They got a mention in the recent IDTT podcast on Ukranian wines.

I agree Chris. For me, the story of the winemakers is often more interesting than the taste of the wine. The great winemakers are all that is left of nobility. . The ones from older families live 100 years in the past and 100 years in the future . Some of our Burgundy friends are already making plans for global warming, such as planting of the othe site of the mountain range.
I connected this lady to the editor of one of the top wine publications and we will probably see an article. She is mailing him a bottle.

That’s not it. If someone tells me how to post a picture, I can show you the bottle.

Follow these two photos in sequence and then select the photo out of your phone’s photo library

OK Thanks

Problem 1 is that I am in Fiji to rest up from the Burgundy “Vacation” of 3 weeks ago. Was exhausting.
Problem 2 is that I lost my Iphone here and hope I can download the burgundy pics from the cloud. If so, I will include other pictures

You can also just cut and paste images once you’ve selected “Reply” and have a reply window open.

The picture of the Ukranian wine is on my lost I Phone but could retrieve these two from my wife’s
The first was a party with Aubert deVillaine. This is my wife’s reaction when I told her what his wines go for. Luckily he did not notice.
The second is me with cousins Arnaud and Benoit. You can see the resemblance

Or you could just Google it

Weirdly it seems to be an Argentine company

Yes, that’s the bottle but I have no idea who this company is. They do not list this wine as one they are involved with and do not offer it for sale.
