See above. Will be with the family in Midtown and Buckhead Saturday. Kids’ menu certainly not necessary, but looking for somewhere to take a good bottle from my cellar for dinner with excellent food that would not be inappropriate to take them to with me and my better half. As much as I love Atlas, I would not dare bring kids in there unless something has drastically changed there in the last couple of years.
Bonus points if there is a good Sunday brunch spot in the area you can recommend, regardless of alcohol service.
I’d look at Bones. Great classic steakhouse with excellent sides and $15 corkage. There is no children’s menu so it could get expensive, but the kids could possibly split a steak if cost is an issue. For sides I love the hashbrowns and corn pudding. Spinach with garlic and creamed spinach are also very good and if they have cabbage as a special side it is outstanding. You can order half salads for a little more than half price and the serving is still ample.
Edited to add that the pecan pie is incredible and the mountain high pie is fun for families, sort of a variant of baked Alaska.
If you want to stay closer to midtown, Little Sparrow or Marcel would be good options. Not sure of the corkage situation, but assume it’s permissible. In Buckhead, an alternative to Bones is Le Bilboquet - food isn’t amazing, but a fun overall experience.
For brunch, consider Delbar in Inman Park. It’s middle eastern, but very good if that appeals to you. In Buckhead, Roshambo or Le Bilboquet.
Marcel is a good option for classic steakhouse. Little Sparrow has great food, but it’s basically a nightclub. Also doubt you can get a Sat res at this point. Corkage is very friendly at both (owned by the same group).
Bones definitely the first place that came to mind for the dinner option. Chops is another good option, and I’m not that big on Hal’s (it’s not bad at all, I’ve eaten there lots, but just prefer the first two) but that would probably work for yall too. Just had a great meal at the bar in Marcel recently but my gut tells me that kids would do better elsewhere.
I love brunch at Local Three on Sundays: it’s a fixed price and you walk through the kitchen to get whatever each chef made that day, all you can eat, I bet kids would love it, and I take family there. Other good brunch options around town: Pure Quil Superette reminds me of southern cafeteria food, in the best way possible. Sun In My Belly has never made a bad dish as best as I can tell. Or if you want the classic greasy spoon diner, there’s always Silver Skillet (check out all the pictures of horses). And lastly I’d suggest Highland Tap (which actually wouldn’t be a terrible option for dinner either; it’s definitely less fancy than the other places but there will probably be some other kids around, not sure what their corkage fee situation is though).
2nd for Pricci.
Ate there on Tues. Grilled Veal Chop was fantastic (as was the octopus appetizer & Orecchiette pasta dish.)
Wine list wasn’t huge but seemed very reasonably priced. They had a Barbaresco for $160 that was quite good.
Great to know they are cool for BYOW.
