About 5 years ago, the parents of an ex-student of mine whom I helped get a postgraduate studentship at a prestigious university gave me a bottle of Kweichow Moutai from the late 1960s/early 1970s. I graciously accepted, having no idea of it’s potential pecuniary value, or indeed what it would be like to drink. Not sure if it constitutes a present exactly, but a real jerk I dated for a short time in NYC gave me a bottle of '89 Haut Brion as an apology after a particularly egregious bit of behavior.

At the other end of the spectrum, my husband gave me his entire cellar when we got married, so I win. Then again…he got mine!
