We’re on a couple of mailing lists, but my wife and I were looking to pick up another club or two, and we were wondering if anyone had any good thoughts on wine clubs to join? The hope is that is isn’t a rip-off, and that it would be a decent producer.
I would add that we’re looking for clubs that cost less than $300 / shipment.
If you like Zins… Biale Black Chicken Society. 4 Shipments a year…sub your $$$ amount, discounts, free tasting and a couple of nice parties every year.
For a wide variety check out expressionsofthevine.com, they have great pricing on about 12 wineries and for $99 a year you get unlimited shipping and 30% discount, not all the wines are the sexiest but there are lots of good value solid choices
Alex, not sure if they have to be Napa clubs (or cabs - inferring here), but I’ve really like Eric Kent in the past - great selection, consistently good wines, fairly priced, reasonable shipping, and distinctive.
I guess I’m not sure why you want to go the “club” route other than for convenience. I’m on a few mailing lists and I just buy a certain amount when they come out, pretty much every year. Included in those are Herb Lamb, Myriad, and Quivet.
Think about Siduri. Two case shipments per year. Terrific pricing. AND you qualify for 30% off of “list” pricing on all your other purchases. We drink Siduri and Novy as sort of our house pinot’s and syrah’s.
Adam has received some very nice scores from a variety of sources, recently.
I know it’s not Napa … But neither are the prices.
