Hershey’s Kisses any red wine. The milk chocolate will negate virtually every negative and positive attribute, rendering Two Buck Chuck and '82 Latour equally delicious going down, then coming back out 30 minutes later. So, both contributing to and enhancing The Capistrano Effect.
Forget wine. Bourbon and Butterfinger is the go to pairing.
For the novelty, you should try Skrewball whisky if you haven’t yet.
Sounds like someone speaks from experience.
Scotch also goes well with chocolate. (Not milk chocolate, so not Butterfingers)
With any confection not including chocolate, I’d suggest pouring vodka over it, then after a decent time interval, pouring it down the drain.
Black Cat should go with pretty much anything that night.
I did a Bourbon and candy taste test one Halloween a few years ago. Butterfinger and Elmer T. Lee Bourbon was the clear winning match.
