Best Wine Shop In Denver? Give Me A Rec, Please

I want to direct a work colleague to somewhere in Denver where there is a good selection. One of you fine Denver Berserkers…please give me a hand. Being in Orange County, I’d like to have a website to look at so I can figure out what to point my pal to buy. Thanks in advance. [cheers.gif]

Retail wines in Denver are hit or miss.
Try Argonaut. Nice collectable selection upstairs. Downtown Denver location.
Highlands Wine Seller. Sort of like Argonaut, but more in the 'burbs.
If more mass market is your thing, there is Davidsons in south metro. Tipsy’s and Applejacks SW metro area.
Not a huge selection, but a good browsing environment is the Vineyard in Cherry Creek.

Oh, City Wine in central Denver is small, but good too.

Michael, thank you. I was wanting to find a place with good Sancerre and Loire. I’ll look into both of these tomorrow. If not, then I will buy here and ship.

City Wine on Colorado Blvd, Divino on S. Broadway, The Vineyard in Cherry Creek North and Mondo Vino on 32nd are probably the best best. Primo Vino on Olde Wadsworth in Arvada is long on Italian, too. The upstairs of Argonaut was pretty thin the last time I was in.

If it’s any help, I buy 95% of my wine online. Denver just doesn’t have the quality of selection that CA has. My recommendation is to ship it in. Temps here are all over the board. 70’s today. 50/60’s over the weekend. 50’s next week, so you should be OK.

when i’m in town, i usually stop at Primo Vino. really nice shop.

Guys, Primo Vino seems to have a helluva selection on their website. Is their inventory really that deep?

Primo has a nice selection on site, but most is at offsite storage.
You can call and order or use the online ordering they will bring the wine to the store.

Total Beverage in Westminster has a nice selection as well.

Hey, thanks for all the replies. I did look at all the stores and none of them had Huet or Lucien Crochet, which is what I wanted to ship. I decided to take Michael’s advice and order locally, shipping from here. Have a good weekend.
