Caesar Salad is 100 years old today

Straight from Mexico!

All true (supposedly lol). I’ve had a Caeser in Tijuana, back when it was easy to go there for a day, or afternoon.

At the horse race track? That was classic.

Can’t go to Tijuana anymore, sadly. Avenido de revolution. LOL. Or Puerto Nuevo, Ensenada, Rosarito, Bajamar etc.

Mexico is a complete shit show and has been for 25 years.

Been there, but also just around the town, anywhere. Years ago (we’re talking 40-50) there was a place where a woman would make tortillas in the window, faster than you could possibly eat them.

Rosarito Beach was the place to go for a good, very cheap lobster dinner.

My college roommate had a Ford Ranchero. The taillights were large enough to remove and stash a gallon bottle of Oso Negro vodka, which we would smuggle back as teenagers lol.

We always road tripped down for the Rosarita to Ensenada bike ride. A 50 mile booze cruise. Beach cruises, unicycles, skateboards and complete debauchery.

End up in Hussongs or Papas and Beer. Someone always ended up in the whore house. LOL That would be my buddy Mark.

I miss those days. LOL

They still do it…

omg, forgot about Hussongs. Met George Segal there once.

Any salad is a caesar salad if you stab it enough…
