California Whites -- What Are You Drinking?

Fabulous wine.
Best, Jim

Warmer days cooler wines. :sunglasses:

A few that have impressed me:
Nine Suns White 2018
Memento Mori Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Realm Fidelio 2019
Jean Edwards Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Sojourn Gaps Crown Chardonnay 2018
Maxem Chardonnay 2018
Schramsberg J Schram Brut 2010

Looking forward to trying Brand’s White blend next week. Normally reserved for their tasting room on Pritchard Hill…but no visitors.
Anyone tried Brand Napa Valley White blend before?

I own exactly zero bottles of California white wine. But I have made mental notes for when we’re allowed to go out again.

We buy and drink a good amount of California white wine. The wines we buy in virtually every vintage, in no particular order.

Dirty & Rowdy, Familiar Blanc and Semillon (skin fermented)
Ceritas Chardonnay, all vineyards and blends are excellent
Leo Steen Chenin Blanc, especially the Jurassic Vineyard and Peaberry Mendocino County
Idlewild, Arneis, Cortese (25% skin fermented) and Flora and Fauna White Wine (blend of Arneis and Muscat)
Jolie Laide, Melon de Bourgogne, Pinot Gris (skin fermented) Trousseau Gris (skin fermented)
Ryme, Vermentino Hers (traditional), Vermentino His (skin fermented)

We very much enjoy the wines listed above and an added bonus is the people behind the wines are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Some recent favorites:

Desire Lines Riesling (excellent, and very well priced)
Ridge Adelaida (not the straight Roussanne but a blend of Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, and Roussanne)
Halcon Roussanne
Massican Sauvignon Blanc
Hartford Court Sevens Bench Vineyard Chardonnay
HdV Chardonnay

AUBERT
ANCILLARY CELLARS
RIVERRAIN SAV BLANC
MYRIAD SEMILLON

2016 Myriad Semillon right now. Yum!!

Right now 2016 Kutch Chardonnay.
It was a leaker since first spotted in the past winter and I expected very little. It is awesome.

Unfortunately, it also appears to be priced like a 1er Cru Chablis.

I guess that’s just the way of the world.

Maybe I could ask Santa Claus to bring me a bottle for Christmas…

Ceritas Chardonnays.

Rios 2018 Sauvignon Blanc. Minuscule production with excellent acidity and an ample citrus. It will accompany tonight’s dinner of Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao vegetables and rice, fried or plain, depending on when we get home.

Another vote for Ceritas Chard’s.

Saint K’s Malvasia Bianco was a stunner, I thought.

We drink mostly whites around the house- These are ones that have recently been popped more often than others.

Enfield Chards- (Citrine is crazy good for the money) and Heron Lake is a wow wine.
Calder- Riesling and Chenin
Desire Lines- Riesling
Little Frances- Semillon
Fine Disregard- Semillon
Pax- Chenin
Dane Cellars- Chenin (the '16 is !!!)

For special occasions we’ve been pulling older Mount Eden Chards.

Couple I’ve popped recently:

Enfield Citrine (agree Hardy, just a ridiculous QPR!)
Paix Sur Terre Clairette Blanche
Forman Chardonnay
Halcyon Blanc of Cabernet Franc

Enfield Chardonnay, Dirty and Rowdy 2019 Concrete Egg Fermented Semillon, Massican blends, Bevela Grenache Blanc, Belle Rivage Chenin Blanc, Tablas Creek Grenache Blanc, Bedrock Sauvignon Blanc, Ryme Vermentino, and Arbe Garbe blends.

Still surprised no one mentions Tercero - some of the best Rhone whites around.

Carlisle Derivative and Gruner.

Indeed!!!

Zotovich Viogner
Calluna Savingon Blanc
Carol Shelton Coquille Blanc ( this is amazing!!!)

I’ve already included it above, but I’ll mention it again. 2019 Martinelli Dry Muscat Alexandria, Jackass Hill Vineyard. Truly unique. And delicious. $28.
