Ah ok. That’s using the desktop version, yes? One of my issues is that not everything is in the mobile versions. Hopefully that will change before too long.

Yes, in the desktop version. I seldom use the mobile app, I’m accustomed to the desktop version to using it is faster for me. Using it to run analytics or do any kind of big inventory work seems really daunting to me. Hopefully the feature set available on mobile improves

Yeah, I’m not really doing any analytics yet my focus is on getting the data in. Desktop is in office on 2nd floor (in North American speak) , cellar in basement.
So iPad is handy for updating etc.

You can use the “desktop” version on your iPad. Just access via a browser. You have to select “view full website” in the footer if it brings you to mobile version.

I showed my wife this thread and my numbers to prove my purchasing is harmless. Instead, she thinks you are all nuts. Me, I’m a bit jealous.

Similarly, I always cringed a bit when I looked at the “Consumed” number on my profile. After reading the numbers of others posting to this thread, I’m feeling much better about my own consumption. In fact, I think I may need to up my game a bit.

Tell her that you name is pronounced just like mine, so she should be happy that she married the one who is less nuts. My wife, by the way, shares 95%+ of the bottles I open. She only misses out on some of the ones I open for business meetings and bar association dinners. You just need to coop her into liking the stuff and then she will be on the same road to hell that you are on.

That’d be mathematically impossible in CT as for it to be marked consumed, it has to be purchased first. At most you could have consumption=purchases, but then you’d have no wines left in the cellar

Yep, that’s correct. Aside from that math, I was also speaking to the fact that you can’t mark something in CT as consumed if you haven’t entered it in as a purchase beforehand. Though you can add TNs to wines not marked as purchased or consumed in CT

With the app it is possible (not sure on desktop)… You can select is as being a restaurant purchase, had a taste or drank from a friend’s cellar.

Well, it’s not pronounced that differently. And my wife likes most of what I open and usually drinks along. She just doesn’t quite understand why one needs so much of the stuff that is not drunk.

I find it reassuring that the value of my current cellar is higher than what I paid for everything I’ve purchased, including what I’ve consumed. That means I’ve been drinking for free.
