Hello! Been a bit since I’ve been a berserker, but we’ve been busy selling our home and trying to get our wines moved, ahhhhh! Found a great spot in Seattle thanks to this community.
Anyway, we have a cruise planned in late September leaving from Venice. I happen to notice there is this Expo Chianti just a couple of weeks earlier. Curiouis if any of you have been to this festival / Expo and what your thoughts are. We could certainly extend our trip a couple of weeks and thought this could be fun.
I was there last year and walked around, but did not taste. Lines were very long and my favorite producers were largely missing. It was about 100 booths set up in the main piazza in Greve.
But take my view with a grain of salt, I’ve long since lost my interest in trade tastings. I’d much rather poke around the wine shops and take a nice bottle home for dinner, which is what we actually did. 2016 Poggio di Sotto Brunello (about as good as a young red wine as I’ve had) and 2016 Montevertine (very good, but shown up by the Poggio di Sotto).
