Family friendly wineries near Seattle

A work friend is going to Seattle in two weeks and as the office wine guy he asked if i knew of any family friendly good wineries within an hour or so drive of downtown Seattle. Kids are 5 & 11, i have no idea if they are welcome on winery visits or if they are prohibited due the the serving of alcohol, they are very well behaved so they would not be disruptive.

Said i have no idea but i know a group of people who might, my friend likes big reds so any varietal of reds would suit.

Thanks

Alan

I’m not a big WA wine fan but have visited Woodinville many times. Chateau Ste Michelle is family friendly and a great place for a picnic. They could also try DeLille Cellars which is within walking distance and they have what sounds like a perfectly suitable cab for your friend. I’m sure some better choices will be discussed soon.

I think the red hook beer brewery has a cool tour that works for the kids…
the eating area is super kid friendly too

I’ve gone to a lot of the wineries with an infant without issue… not sure about a 11 yr old though…

CSM is a good suggestion. They have big pretty grounds that the family can have a nice walk or picnic. Many of the Woodinville wineries are small & likely won’t object to the kids, but the kids might have very little to do.

Januik/Novelty Hill is very kid friendly, we take our grandkids all the time. Nice outside area for the kids to run around, good food options and a stellar lineup of wines.

+1 on CSM. They have a big pond with ducks and some tiered holding tanks with big fish in them that are both fun for kids to feed.

I’ll second Januik.

Agreed re Januik/Novelty Hill…
