I was about to thank you immensely. But wait! I assumed this is premium, but it seems to be the regular one. I already have UPS My Choice and have had it for at least a year. I don’t pay anything for it, and it doesn’t let me do anything except hold a package at the nearest UPS massive service center (20 miles away) for no charge. If I want to hold at a UPS store or change the delivery address, I have to pay $5.
I got a free premium code a month ago and have gotten zero use out of it… Most wine shipments can’t be changed to be delivered to a local store, and it’s still $5 to select a 2 hr window instead of a 6 hr window. It is free for hold at the shipping center…which is 30 min away.
I upgraded to premium so that I could select a 2-hour window, and the first delivery I tried to specify a window for was “not eligible for this service”. I got a refund and went back to regular MyChoice.
One nice thing about the regular service is that it recognizes shipments and notifies me, which is nice when the winery or store doesn’t send a tracking number. Saves me the legwork of tracking it down.
I’ve found it useful to redirect shipments as I’ve moved and some shippers still send to the old address (despite having the updated address on file).
I definitely wouldn’t pay $40 for it though. You can usually redirect shipments free of charge with a simple phone call.
Other thoughts of Premeir: The notification e-mails are nice, and the “delivery window” feature is essentially non-functional.
