Green Chile Chicken Soup with 2002 Mosel Riesling

Tonight’s light supper was our green chile chicken soup, with an additional whole chicken leg, browned and braised in rich vegetable stock with sweet onion and garlic, with no additional green chiles. The heat made it to my temples and the bridge of my nose. Wine was a 2002 Dr. Loosen Mosel Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese - fill a quarter inch below the capsule, cork raggedly saturated between 3/4 inch of the top and the top; good white fruits with good acidity, a little sweetness (which helped with the green chiles); with a long fruity finish. Then we each had a couple ginger creme cookies with our after dinner water, while watching the Chinese F1 Grand prix (via TiVo) from Shanghai.
