Haute Cuisine, The Movie

Just finished streaming this on Netflix. Nased on the true story of Mitterand’s private kitchen chef. Enjoyable flick. A lot to be said for simple food prepared with top ingredients, also the conflict that results from having to cook more dietary-friendly food and settling for less than ideal ingredients to save money.

My neighbors watched this and told me YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS so I will be watching it when I can.

Glad to have 2 recs for it, looking forward…

Watched it last night…very average is being kind and I love to cook. I won’t go into details but story was very weak and choppy. Did make me want to order more truffles though…

Jean-Marc Roulot plays Luchet.

I’m easy to please, and I just rolled with it – given the premise (evidently true) that Mitterrand wanted to eat food like his grandmother used to cook, it flows along logically. For me a high point was when they were discussing the wines to have with their Loire dinner (Huet!). I enjoyed watching it.
