Horrible News out of Kansas City

JJ’s restaurant has long been one of Kansas City’s wine destinations. I’ve been fortunate enough to host wine dinners and trade lunches there…I’ve made friends there, eaten some wonderful food and drunk some great wine inside. So it is so sad to see that it is gone…a gas leak and explosion. One person is still missing and others are injured. They are all in my thoughts.

Holey Crap! I was there last summer and definitely one of the top (wine) restaurants in KC. This is a huge loss, and my sincere thoughts to all involved.

Ate there once some yrs ago. Exceptional wine list…good food.
I believe that this was the restaurant JimColey somm’d for a few yrs.

Terrible. I hope all are well who were close to this.

City is still in shock. Details are slowly coming out, but our thoughts right now are for the missing, injured and their families.

An update on JJ’s and what a great wine-based restaurant lost. And again, sincerest thoughts to all those affected by this horrible incident at JJ’s and the families of those lost and injured.

Dreadful, awful, and shocking. An ordinary day…and, yet it becomes so horribly extraordinary. My heart goes out to those mourning, deceased or injured.

Are all of our KC-area WBs accounted for?

I think we are all here. To make matters worse, we have 10-15 inches of snow falling today, which has halted the search/investigation

My daughter called me this morning and related that 18" were expected out in Olathe. A stressful morning for her.

Surprised we haven’t heard from JimColey yet. Expect he knew some of the folks involved.
