Keller's BBQ sauce

Interesting review: http://www.bbqgeek.com/thomas-keller-is-the-nations-de-facto-chef-laureate-his-culinary-achievements-are-the-stuff-of-legend-and-his-flagship-re.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Zoiks that’s expensive stuff. I’ll have to try some of it and see how good it is. I gotta agree most of the stuff off the shelf is full of stabalizers and HFCS.

Interesting reviews on the W-S site. Only two of them, one five star and the other a one star.

Have you tried any of the Ad Hoc BBQ Sauce Robert?

Heavens no! For this Eastern NC purist, only three ingredients are allowed in BBQ sauce (‘dip’ as we call it): vinegar, red pepper, salt.

“People who would put ketchup in the sauce they feed to innocent children are capable of most anything.” ~ Dennis Rogers, Raleigh News & Observer

From the story you linked this isn’t that close to ketchup (at least not the kind you find in stores these days, I worked for a summer in Hunt’s R&D lab next to the ketchup guys so I know of what I speak). It is however quite different from your preferred sauce.
