I bought this cookbook. So far I am not a fan. For reference I also have the Lucky Peach 101 cookbook which I think in conception aims for a similar flavor profile, if not a bit more dumbed down. The Mission Chinese has long ingredient lists, not the most linear of presentations, and lots of sub recipes.

I much prefer Fushcia Dunlop and the LP cookbooks to this one.

I think that’s a fair criticism and I’m certainly a fan of Fuchsia too. Everything I’ve made out of Mission Chinese has turned out well, though.

The problem with these is that I go to buy the cheap one, and get suckered into buying something not on sale from the “other people also bought” section.
