Mommenpop (wine adjacent - aperitif and spritz)

Just a quick note to say I’ve really enjoyed the Blood Orange aperitif & a special bottled Blood Orange spritz they apparently made semi-exclusively for Atlanta bottle shops Elemental/Sidetracked Wine. They are more fruit forward than bitter, so not really traditional under the aperitif moniker. Made in Napa, they say “hand-crafted in Napa with local, organic ingredients” but I’m not sure if that applies to the wine components across their range. The Blood Orange aperitif is made with Barbera, the Seville Orange aperitif with chardonnay. Fun stuff.

Popped a bottle with a buddy a couple weeks ago and loved it, low abv adult fruit punch.

Sounds interesting except for the $38 price point (from thier site)…low 20’s would be much more reasonable (for me). But then it is from Napa.
Just noticed the alcohol levels, wow.

They are fortified, with “local grape spirit” - thus the 17% or so on the aperitif (which is low for the category). The spritz is $25/btl here in Atlanta, and I recall the aperitifs being similarly priced, maybe $30 (definitely not $38).

I’m not a fan, but my wife enjoys them quite a bit. Have to remind her/friends of the 17% ABV though, as they are easy quaffers and can sneak up on you…,

Via Carota makes some surprisingly good RTD spritzes and other cocktails. They taste like someone just mixed them. They are expensive, though.
