I have one of the original versions of this tool I think they call it a knife.
Just f ing with you Paul. I just never see value in something I can do with my knife or other tool i already own. I think we have on of these in my home my wife bought and tossed in a drawer or cabinet. I always think it will take more time to find it then just run my knife through stuff to get the chop i need.
a sharp knife works for me.
what I love about my Taketa Gyuto is I can chop onions, garlic and parsley and there isn’t any moisture on the board. it is such a clean cut…no smashing.
Up tell last weekend I used to prep everything with a knife. I found this so easy to chop/dice 6 cloves of garlic , then the parsley. I know my wife used it to chop nuts with it and I had never thought about using it till I saw Mike Chiarello use it.
Hey Paul, you are not alone…
I use the Pampered Chef Food chopper when I’m making lots of stuff. It is super handy to have around the kitchen. I get a bit ticked when members of my family use it to chop just a few nuts… takes up a fair amount of dishwasher space too
There are name brand choppers like this from the likes of Kitchen-Aid available on Amazon for about half the price - or even less - of the Pampered Chef.
Paul, don’t worry, it’s a rough crowd. Sometimes border-lining snobbery.
If they knew I watched Jerseylicious AND Family Jewel’s religiously with the wife, they would rip me a new one…
Don’t be offended. I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to drop a Vince Offer gag into the thread. Here’s another by the same guy who did the classic Allen Iverson “Practice” mashup.
