Ok……the Ulysse (09 base) was a true JOY! Had the intense citrus acid, minerality and bubbles of a Salon…with the richness and slight oxidativeness of a vintage Krug! Balls flying everywhere…thanks Fu! The Arnot Roberts Kirschenmann Zin was fabulous as well……totally a Pinot lovers Zin! Even our server kind of “warned” us about it…saying this isn’t your average big and rich zin…very light is style! Hell yes…loved it! 12.5 alc. wonderful Zin flavors…with Pinot-ish feel.
Next night……had a glass of the 10 and 12 Van Winkle while watching the bagpiper at Spanish Bay……those ain’t no Pappy 23! 12 was ok…the 10 was hot! Dinner at Peppoli….fantastic! Food…amazing……sunset…amazing….2004 Vietti Lazzarito with the 15hr braised veal shank…AMAZING!
