I like many, but Pinot Noir is tops for me.
Cheers,
Bill
Pinot Noir for me as well.
Syrah as a close 2nd.
I tend to like Grenache and Pinot Noir roses.
Mourvedre should probably be on the list, particularly in respect of the great roses from Bandol.
Definitely Mourvedre…should redo the poll cuz Mourvedre Rose is so important. I’d include Rose Champagne…it has bubbles, but it’s still rose!
This, this, and this. I voted “Other” ![wink [wink.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/0/04707e6a7bbb03e0153e349d8a9270d30e1e9525.gif)
I thought that it might fit in with Grenache and co, but Ok.
Syrah in a landslide.
EDIT: was I supposed to select “Grenache & Co.” for Syrah? I voted Other.
pineau d’anuis also makes nice rose. The CRB rose is excellent. However I voted grenahce and co b/c of the consistency. I like Mourvedre as rose but lack sufficient experience with these to say that I like them best. Aside from sparkling, I don’t care for Pinot Noir as rose.
Other.
My favorite so far has been Touriga Nacional.
I think they only make it in certain years (maybe only once ever) but my most vivid rose memory was a Kamen rose of Cab Sauv.
I really don’t know. I think of Rose more of a “producer” wine, with favorites from Arnot-Roberts (Touriga), Bedrock (old vine Mourved?) and Scherrer (a blend of Pinot and Zin).
I voted for Zinfandel … just because it’s Zinfandel.
Other: hondarrib zuri and hondarribi beltza. My favorite rose wines are from the Txakoli region. Producers: Ameztoi and Gurrutxaga.
Nice avatar, Bill.
Pinot noir and chardonnay, as in rosé Champagne…
Mourvèdre blend for me. Though I enjoy many rosés, the mourvèdre-led Bandol rosés I favor most.
Depends on the usage of the wine, but generally Pinot Noir is tops for me, followed by Cab Franc. I also really love Rose of Zweigelt.
Mourvedre for me as well!
It pained me to select just one option. I selected Pinot Noir but I have also enjoyed rose’ from Cabernet Franc, Grenache/Syrah/Cinsault, 100% Syrah, Tempranillo? (Spanish rosado). I have a Zweigelt rose’ to try in the coming weeks.
Ditto. Syrah is THE grape. Flawed poll.
Curious as to which syrah roses you guys and gals are digging these days. I love the grape for sure, but just never was excited about roses made from it - just haven’t found many that were really that unique or interesting. Perhaps I’m missing something . . .
Cheers!
