I’ve had positive experiences with them - they even bailed me out before my engagement party when another NYC store fell through by delivering a ton of wine on a few hours notice.
Formerly the lowest priced, and still one of the top retailers in NYC, although the interest in wine has gone way down and their selection isn’t what it once was. Still may have the best sherry selection around.
Well, (I live in San Francisco) ordered a case from them and they only sent 6 bottles. I spoke with them and they sent the other 6, so I had two shipments to worry about. I don’t believe they even used styro though I’m not 100% certain; I’d have to go look. They were total amateurs in every way in terms of shipping to the Left Coast.
I’ve bought both in their store and by delivery and been very pleased. Very competitive pricing, and a Spanish Cabernet from 1979 was in glorious shape.
Great prices, good provenance and reasonable shipping. All round thumbs up. But I’ve never bought pre-release/futures so have no idea on that front.

Generally good experiences, though the selection has gone way down. From what I’ve heard storage might be iffy but that wouldn’t matter for pre-arrival.
I buy a fair amount of Spanish wine from them - never a problem.
