Sangria Recipe

Does anyone have a great and simple Sangria recipe?

Have a week in Florida coming up, and pitchers of Sangria sound like a good daytime option.

Cheers,

Clayton

I use the one from La Tienda - same place I get my Jamon Iberico

I use apples for the fruit, and also recommend making it the night before (but adding the soda when ready to drink).

Not really a recipe but wash an orange, a lemon, and a lime then slice them really thinly. Take about a quarter cup of sugar and pour it over the fruit. You can add a lot of other fruit too - apples, strawberries, etc. Let that macerate for a while until the sugar is all dissolved. Then add some brandy, rum or liquor, a bottle of wine, a cup of orange juice, and a small bottle of club soda or tonic water or some kind of soda.

Just adjust all the ingredients to taste - more sugar for more sweetness, more or less liquor, etc. And throw in a stick of cinnamon for good luck. There’s no real “recipe”, just fruit and juice and wine.

On a whim I purchased Ed Hardy red sangria, It was great for a party-punch type of drink, 5.99 a bottle, you can dress it up with some fresh fruits. It wasn’t sweet, and most important I didn’t get a headache, like some low end sugar bomb punch!

Please don’t judge me:

1 bottle of Trader Joe’s Blood Orange soda.

1 bottle of Two Buck Chuck - either Cabernet or ‘Shiraz.’

Fresh fruit.

Shockingly sangria-like. It’s actually kinda good.
