What is the general consensus on the '22 vintage in Napa?

Received offer, and ordered. $4050 for the 3pack. Gotta love the $110 shipping(incl $8 shipping tax) to ship 3 bottles 2.5hrs away!

Is the scoring pretty consistent across the entire Napa vintage (being lower than normal)?
AG did have this to say about 22 SE…“Two thousand twenty-two was a very difficult vintage at Screaming Eagle. Merlot was heavily impacted by intense heat and drought, to the point that the winery did not bottle The Flight. Cabernet Sauvignon fared quite a bit better. The 2022 is a pretty wine, one that reflects the lighter style of year nicely.”
I’m all for lighter style in Napa!

Price was the same as for the 2021 release last year. That one was up $100 per bottle over the 2020 …

I hate to break it to you, but as I’ve mentioned before, you can keep checking until hell freezes over because there hasn’t been a waiting list at Screagle in many years. They have enough flippers, they aren’t interested in adding more.

I know two people who have dropped off the list over the last 5 years because they didn’t want the wine and it wasn’t worth it to them to flip it. That being said, I can’t imagine it happens very often.
This is the week each year that makes me despair my life choices.

I interpret your statement to mean “no one from the waiting list has been offered any wine in many years”. Apologies if my interpretation is wrong. Assuming I’m correct, may I ask the basis of your statement?
In the past, I had made note of their production levels, and they were increasing. At this point, its probably stale data and even worse I’ve lost it. Nonetheless, I have a morbid curiosity about production levels and I appreciate knowing what they are.
Thought someone had mentioned in waitlist thread it was likely to be 2040+ before they likely got an allocation and they had been on list for very long time already
As long as demand continues to out strip supply, essentially there is no waiting list. I don’t know how much clearer I can be.
Sure, if something crazy happens in the future and nobody wants to buy Screagle anymore and they can’t sell their full production each year, they will probably start offering to the people who signed up for the waiting list. Until then the only way you will get a new allocation is if they know you.

I think the confusion may be that your statement of “there hasn’t been a waitlist at screagle for many years” CAN be interpreted as - they’ve removed all people from existing waitlist regardless of sign up time and are now offering new spots (if any) through other means (friends, families, auction, etc). essentially eliminating the concept of a waitlist.
what you explained (and what i gather has happened) is that there’s the same waitlist that hasn’t MOVED for many years. That isn’t the same as not having one for many years.

There is still a waitlist. It just hasn’t moved or cleared in many years.
They didn’t delete all prior signups and eliminate the concept of a signup waitlist.
Only if they have a helicopter.
