I drink from the same glass pretty much every day. I can never seem to get the rim clean to my satisfaction although the rest of the glass seems fine.
How do I clean the rim? Zalto btw.
Maybe use vinegar?
#protip: alcohol wipes.
Denture cleaning tablets.
^^maybe the same thing, but I use PBW (powder brewery wash). It can be found online from any homebrew supplier. The stuff is made specifically for cleaning wine/beer making equipment, and will safely make all your stems, decanters, etc crystal clear.
bleach and then rinse and dry.
thanks all
just ordered the pbw on amazon and will try some of the other ideas mentioned until it arrives on thursday
I just drop two efferdent tablets into the glass if it’s starting to take on a purple tint and let it sit overnight. Then I’ll wash in the dishwasher using a Cascade platinum pod. I use this technique on decanters as well. My stemware includes Zalto, Gabriel, and whoever produces the World Market Connoisseur line.
Maybe…
…you should stop wearing lipstick. ![]()
Beat me too it!
If the stains are on the rim they’re from whatever is on your lips. Only you know what that might be, so clean accordingly. FWIW, I just use dish detergent and a sponge to clean my glasses.
Baking soda is a good advice. It works week.
the pbw mentioned above is magic
stains finally gone
Its great stuff Mark. Sometimes requires an overnight soak, but it definitely gets the job done. Pro tip, don’t try using it on stainless steel. I ruined 3, 100 liter tanks with that stuff…
thanks jody
fortunately for me i have no 100 liter tanks ![]()
