Not at all a Madeira expert.
Will this continue to age in the bottle?
Will it be sweetish or more like a dry sherry?
Any TNs?
Thanks.
Assuming this is a Colheita since a true vintage must be a minimum 20 years in cask.
It will change in bottle, but at a glacial rate. Probably no real noticable difference for at least 20 years or so. It will get less fruity. It will be sweet. I’ve not had the 1994, but have had the 1990 and 1996. The 90 is superb for a Colheita, the 96 a shade less so. I usually get toffee, toasted nuts, citrus fruits in Blandy’s Malmsey. In a true vintage, the flavors and aromas get more concentrated with the extra cask age.
What Eric said…
I’ve had this several times and love it. It is a sweet wine, but the acids are sharp and focused, finishing without any cloying sensations.
What Eric and Marco said…
I have really liked it, and it is a relatively good value.
