TN:1969 Domaine Ponnelle Charmes Chambertin

A collector friend of mine bought this in the early 1990’s and wanted to open something nice for the holidays.
Old red Burgundy is truly a remarkable experience and gives me more reason to keep cellaring my wines.

At peak. The nose smelled of fall leaves wrapped around some roses. Beautifully balanced kaleidoscope of sweet dark cherry fruit. The texture was so silky and smooth with a finish that was irresistible and super long. Hedonistic!

Colour looks great too Leah. I can just about smell that wine from here.

have had some great Ponnelles. Nice!

Sounds really good.
This was sure a late release since the Ponelle label is from the nineties …

Have had the Ponnelle 1969 Bonnes, first class! Tried another at Berns from the 60’s. Again awesome.

Love the old Ponnelle. Interesting Gerhard as I have some of these also.

Yummy!

Beautiful. Looks perfect!

Didn’t realize it was released in the nineties, makes sense on my friend’s purchase. Would truly love to drink another bottle in the near future, maybe a trip to Bern’s is in order… [cheers.gif]

Looks and sounds awesome Leah!

A 1969 Pierre Ponelle would have to look like this:

or like this:

but from the 90ies like this:

Interestingly the actual labels are going back to the older design again:
