1998 Château Palmer - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (6/7/2009)
Opened (but not decanted) 2 hours before consumption. Aromas of dark plum, graphite, leather, earth and currants. A balanced attack on the mid-palate with good acidity and sophisticated tannins. Flavors range the aromatic descriptors and a long fresh finish. My kind of claret, with obviously many good years ahead of it. (93 pts.)

I have opened and enjoyed the 98 Palmer, but the 99 is a huge step up. It was to me the star of that Vintage.
Thanks for the note
Jack
The sole bottle of '98 that I had was very tasty indeed.
Bowden and I had a '89 on Sunday . . . pretty tasty.
I just saw the list you fargin’ bastarges drank…you make me sick.
Someone should post that list . . . Saturday night was a blur thanks to Manlin . . . the Bristol was very good, focused on the food more than the wine honestly . . .
I’m working on the list…just sent it to you for some fine tuning…I’ll post when it comes back.
It was very tasty - I had a glass of it left over for the 2nd night and it retained its freshness well.
Too bad I can’t afford recent vintages of this estate - would love to try more of these…
I wonder who brought the WOTN?
