2004 Conterno Fantino Barolo Sorì Ginestra - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (1/5/2020)
Decanted 6hrs. At 15 or 16 years in, this is still a beast of a Barolo, with a huge tannic structure. That being said, there is gorgeous core of very dark plums and roses, tar and iron shavings, great persistence and grip. Perhaps a touch dry on the finish is the only slight I can think of, and its a small one. Should have another 20 years in it, no question. (94 pts.)
