TN: 2010 Domaine Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet

Drank half a bottle of 09 Batard last evening and it’s painfully young but very good. Will revisit the other half tonight.

Variable reward system makes it more addictive.

I have had many pleasurable wine moments over the years, and continue to have them…mostly with red Burgs, as they have aged more reliably. I truly miss the experience of reliably aging white Burgundy. To only post notes on the positive experiences is to ignore reality. I am not in the business, and I am not a cheerleader. However, as a lover of aged WB, I am very interested in how others are approaching their buying and cellaring of WB these days, as prices climb and reliability is hit or miss, and those misses can be very costly in dollars. To read about advanced and premoxed 2010 Ramonets is evidence that they have not effectively addressed the problem…which is understandable (though discouraging since the wines show so much promise when young) since the problem is not well understood, and the only effective prevention may turn out to be DIAM or screwcap.
