Wow!
This was my first GG. On my wine road so far, I have “learned” my Riesling from German Kabinett and Spaetlese and a few Finger Lakes offerings. And although this bottle had the word “DRY” printed boldly on the front label giving me a heads-up as to what was coming, l was still surprised at the first sip. Dry indeed! Lively, almost petillant, assertive acidity leads to intense and focused Reisling fruitiness which is immediately recognizable as Riesling, but what specific fruits/herbs may be there, escape my grasp. (Help?) As the wine lost its chill, the purity of the slightly tart fruit and the mineral mouthfeel stepped forward and took the stage. And it lasted and lasted and . . .
Loved this!
