TN: 2021 Championship Bottle Pinot Noir Lost Coastlines Fir Crest Vineyard

Hey @Saul_Mutchnick

@Vincent_Fritzsche gave me the bottle you left for me. Very kind, the crew drank it last night with grilled salmon on a 100 degree evening in Beaverton

    Cranberry color.

Is it because the vineyard is Fir Crest that I'm getting some evergreen notes? Juniper bush more than pine. Cranberry fruit on the attack, probably driven by the low ABV. Big whack of tart red apple, not quite crabapple. Very nice

I am curious - what was your technique for drinking red wine in 100 degree heat without it becoming very unpleasantly warm? I personally dislike reds above about 66 degrees.

Duh! Ice Cubes!! :innocent:

Homemade rosé?

Being indoors?

It seems irrelevant to mention the heat if it is not a factor. Since he mentioned grilling, I assumed they were outside. Perhaps not and I’ve simply made some unnecessary noise.

Ahh, Grasshopper.

You can chill the wine or you can chill the people. Even the dog got into the act.

Chill people drinking warm wine. :+1: You look like the only wine drinker.

Those are insulated wine mugs.

I’m drinking out of a plastic wine glass.

I’ve invited you. Come to Socal and we’ll get you up to speed! LOL

Love it - Little pool time works every time! Even here in AZ when its 118, ha!

Glad you enjoyed the wine and sorry I couldn’t be there to get it to you in person!

Re: the “fir” notes–I absolutely get them in a lot of the wines from the site. It’s a really distinctive profile and one of those vineyards that has big personality (other parts of that signature are lots of acid/structure and a really cool [to me] blend of red and dark fruit that mix with the foresty-ness).
