TNs: Couple of whites from the past few days

  • 2007 Château du Chatelard Beaujolais Beaujolais Blanc - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais (7/12/2009)
Medium yellow in glass; this wine offers attractive aromas of golden apple, apricot and almonds. In the mouth it’s quite ripe but carries a good shot of acidity. Flavors of pear and apple dominate with a slight honeyed oak popping in towards the end. A good drink. (87 pts.)
  • 2007 Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Blanc Laforet - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc (7/4/2009)
Nice, if simple notes of green apple, melon and oak. Medium bodied and decent acidity. A little too much wood at the end. (84 pts.)

Hey buddy, the Laforet sees no wood, much like…never mind!

Perceptions my friend…perceptions. There was definitely a butter/vanilla combo present. Does it go through malo?

I doubt it, but I will find out.

Much batonnage?

Jorge,

My good buddy (as Leve would say), had this comment…

Daniel,
Yes Malo completed 80/100% ( not in 2003)
Bentonage …depends on the vintage.
Hope this help.
