Whilst we’re wandering up Forgotten alleys in Paso, what ever happened to TobinJamesCllrs.
Website indicates they’re still in business, but the list of wines looks a bit stale.
Anybody tried their wines of late?? And??
Some are a bit on the pricey side.
I first met Toby when he was making wines at EstrellaRiver for GaryEberle.
And what about PeachyCanyon?? Looks to still be going strong. Anybody tried their wines of late?? And??
First met DougBeckett way back when he was prez of the PasoRobles Winegrowers Association.
He’s getting up in yrs. Hope he’s doing well. Anybody have any recent info??

Tom: Toby’s wines are widely available in Vegas. He comes to town for tastings and it is standing room only. Never figured that out; maybe because he has one of the first wineries on the way into Paso on 46. His big zin is around $50.
Peachy wines are around here, too, even in Trader Joe’s. I had a zin a month ago and it was pretty hot. I think they are also using some Lodi grapes. Have not heard anything on Doug.
Back in the day, Toby used to make his wines at the old Peachy winery on Peachy Canyon Rd. Then he built the place on 46 and Peachy also moved to the place on West 46; can’t remember what winery was there before Doug took it over. Doug told me he wanted to drastically up production, that he was in “no man’s land” with low volume. He’s certainly done that.
Poking around I did not realize Cronic was the Beckett sons’ project before coming back to take over PCW
