The only appropriate time for cheese is before the meal. Although I will make exceptions for “during the mean”, “including in the dishes served”, “after the meal”, exclusively for breakfast and lunch, and of course, night cheese.
I don’t know any US restaurants that give you cheese after a meal unless you order it
